Our colleagues at FGH’s Health Media Insights newsletter report a spate of private corporations and government entities are announcing vaccine mandates for their employees following the FDA’s full approval of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine last week.
The Pentagon, New York City Schools, United Airlines, CVS Health and Goldman Sachs are among the many organizations that will require vaccines for employees in the coming months.
Not all employers have used the approval to trigger a mandate, however. Delta Airlines instead instituted a $200 health insurance surcharge for unvaccinated employees beginning November 1.
As the White House and professional medical groups ramp up their calls for vaccine mandates, reporters will likely ask pointed questions about company policies, especially those in the health care sector.
If your organization has not yet made a public decision on vaccination policies, be sure to have talking points prepared on steps you have taken to protect the health and safety of your workforce.
